Bone and joint care review

The future of planned bone and joint care in north central London is being reviewed – help to shape the next stages

North London Partners in health and care is recruiting resident representatives to help us review options for the future of planned bone and joint surgery (known as adult elective orthopaedic care). Over the past year, we have been talking to residents about how planned joint and bone surgery, for adults, (such as hip and knee replacements) could be improved. We’ve worked with doctors, nurses and other hospital staff involved in this kind of care to set out the detail of how it should work.

We are now ready to plan for the future and over the summer, local hospitals will work together to describe how they could deliver the kind of service we have set out. This will result in the hospitals providing a number of options for review.

We are recruiting six local people to be part of the process to review the options, alongside clinicians and others involved in planning healthcare. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of shaping an important health service that makes a difference to thousands of people each year. Full training will be given to anyone taking part.

Dates are still being confirmed – however proposed dates (still to be confirmed) are:

  • We will run a training session for panel members of w/c 8 July 2019
  • The panel will meet to review options on 17 July 2019 (full day commitment)

You will need to be available on both of these dates. If you are interested in being on the panel, please contact us at:, stating your name and contact information (phone number and email) and we will contact you for a further discussion about what is involved. If you don’t have access to a computer you can phone us on, 07825 949148.

We anticipate receiving more enquiries than we have places, so not all applicants will be successful. Please download the full information document for more details.
